Library Orientation Programme: The Institute library organizes an orientation program at the beginning of each academic year. This program aims to give a brief overview of library resources and services to the IIM Sirmaur community. The library also organizes webinars and workshops on subscribed databases.

General rules & regulations
Admission to the Library
1. All members are required to deposit their personal belongings at the property counter at their own risk. The library is not responsible for any loss or damage to the same. Users should let the security, check their personal belongings like books, files, etc. before they leave the library premises. It is mandatory to carry your Identity Card to get access to the Library. All Library users are required to show their Identity Card at Library entrance.
Members and their Privileges
2. The library is primarily intended for use by faculty members, research scholars, students, officialsand other members of the Institute. ID card provided by the Institute will also be treated as a libraryCard also. The categories of members and their privileges are as follows:
Overdue Charges
3. An amount of Rs 5/- per day will be charged if books are not returned from students on or before the due date. Collected Fine will be deposited in the Accounts Department by the

General Instructions:
4. Use of mobile phones inside the library is strictly prohibited.
5. Smoking is prohibited in and around the library.
6. No refreshments or foodstuff of any kind shall be consumed anywhere inside the library.
7. Keeping in mind that the library is a place of individual study and research, members should maintain decorum of library, peace and silence within the library premises.
8. Suggestions for purchasing books and other materials and improving the library services are welcome.
9. If necessary, the Chair-LAC / the librarian can cancel the membership and refuse admission to anyone who violates the rules and regulations of the library or indulges in any other type of misconduct.
10. Members should return all materials borrowed from the library before proceeding on any kind of long leave. Any member going out of the campus for more than 15 days will have to ensure that the library has access to the books loaned to him/her.
11. Members should not sub-lend the materials borrowed from the library.
12. Materials that are issued should be produced for the security check, if required.
13. Library materials should be handled with utmost care. All library users are advised please not to write, damage and make any mark on the library materials.
14. Institute ID card will be treated as Library membership cards that are non-transferable for the purpose of issuing library materials.
15. The borrower is fully responsible for the books borrowed in his/her membership card.
16. Absence and illness are not acceptable excuses for exemption from paying an overdue charge.
17. The Librarian may recall a book at any time before its due date, if required.
18. If the borrower has lost the issued book, the borrower is liable to pay the cost of the book plus the prescribed overdue charge.
19. If a book belonging to a set of Multi Volumes is lost, the borrowers will replace the entire set at their own cost and take the remaining books of the set in the library with them.
20. Mutilations, markings or removal of pages will be considered as "damage". Such documents, as also considered as the lost ones, the borrower will have to replace the book(s) or pay the current price of the book(s). In case of rare and out-of-print books, price assessment made by the Chair-LAC / the Librarian will be final and binding.
No-dues Certificate
21. While leaving the institute after completion of the course, all students are required to obtain a "No-dues certificate" from the Library in order to ensure that they owe no dues to the Library.
